Wrenshall News: Take time out for a Wrenshall trivia puzzler

I figured since most of us are sequestered indoors it might be a good time for some Wrenshall trivia. Since I am “new” to town, having moved here just 20 years ago, I thought I would bring in some ringers for this challenge. I’ve asked Dale Wolf to come up with some Wrenshall questions.

See if you can answer them and email your responses to [email protected] with the subject line “Wrenshall Quiz.” The first person to email me with the most correct answers wins a Wrenshall brick. Please don’t cheat by calling up Jim Sheetz. He is next week’s trivia master.

1 What was the total number of brickyards running in Wrenshall during the peak time of that industry here?

2 Did Wrenshall ever have a bank?

3 Who was the second postmaster in Wrenshall?

4 Name one of the justices of the peace located in Wrenshall prior to Dale Wolf.

5 Name two of the earliest Wrenshall grocery stores.

6 Where was the last of our brickyards physically located? (Make sure to call Dale and have him tell you the story of the final chimney demolition.)

7 Where was the first post office located?

8 What business took over in that location?

Check out next week’s column to learn the answers. If you want to share Wrenshall-specific story ideas — let me know.Call 218-310-4703 or email [email protected].
