A hometown newspaper with a local office, local owners & lots of local news
Throughout all the turmoil on all levels of life nationwide, I’ve become disgusted with the response from our government. Do they respond in unity? No. It’s simply a great opportunity to bash Trump or Biden, depending on whose side you’re on.
The division within our government cannot last very long before the house collapses, and the cracks have never been so evidently wide as they are now with the new circumstances. Are they self aware at all, those who lounge in D.C. while their citizens suffer from their policies? Do they care about our country, or do they care about power?
All signs point to power, and we ought to stop pretending like nothing bad is happening. Ignorance is death, and we all become ignorant at times, as flawed as we are. I’d be a hypocrite to say my sin is lesser than theirs. However, a great many lives are in our government’s hands, and it is truly frightening to know into whose hands my earthly life has been cast.
Change through violence and forcing people out of power will not save the government. The revolution must be a moral one if we are to make it through the crises that are sure to come after this one.
