Missing person call ends well

When a 73-year-old man didn’t return as expected Wednesday, May 27, family members called Carlton County Dispatch. The man had been planning for future tree plantings on a property on County Road 4.

Carlton County Deputies responded to the 911 call at approximately 7:22 p.m. With the assistance of the Carlton County Drone Team, US Border Patrol K9, Carlton Fire Department and Ambulance and the St Louis County Rescue Squad, an extensive search of the property was conducted. The male was located by searchers at 9:45 p.m .; he was conscious and alert in a remote area of the property. Due to the remote location, it took some time and effort to get him out of the woods. He had minor injuries and was checked out by Carlton Ambulance Personnel. The male was not transported to the hospital and returned home with family.
