Obituaries: Franklin Theodore Chalberg

Franklin Theodore Chalberg, 82, of Cloquet passed away on June 20, 2020 at Augustana Mercy Care in Moose Lake.

He was born to Lawrence and Violet Chalberg on Aug. 18, 1937.

Frank graduated from Alborn High School in 1956. He married Carol Lamb on Aug. 19, 1961 in Scanlon. Together, they raised three sons in Culver.

Frank worked several jobs before he found the one he loved oh so well. For the next 30 years he drove truck for three generations of the Levine Family, and went the extra mile for all of their customers. He retired in 1996. Frank and Carol moved to Cloquet in 2002 to be closer to family.

Frank enjoyed attending all of his grandkids' school activities. He was a very proud and caring grandpa. Frank could fix almost anything and never threw things away because someone might need it. He was oh so proud of his hunting cabin, which he and his family built. It was his place to visit with family and friends. Frank and Carol got to see the country after retirement. He loved to drive and Carol could read the map.

He was preceded in death by his son Franklin "Frankie;" his parents; sister, Bernice; and brother, Walt.

Frank is survived by his wife and best friend, Carol; sons Randy (Sherri) and Andy (Kandi); granddaughters, whom he loved very much, Brittany (Matt), Ashley (Brady), Alissa, and Mollie; grandson and his best pal, Anders; great-granddaughter, Maddison, whose picture made him smile until the end; his sister-in-law, Janet; and his extended family.

The family would like to thank Mille Lacs Health, Augustana Mercy Care and Ecumen Hospice for the compassion and care they gave Frank.

A private graveside service will be held at Industrial Cemetery in Culver.

Memorials may be made to Animal Allies. Letters or cards or condolence may be sent to the family care of Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet MN 55720.
