Phyllis Jean Bakka
Phyllis Jean Bakka, 80, of Cloquet passed away July 17, 2020, in her home.
She was born Dec. 13, 1939, to Frank and Josephine (Mudik) Kastanek in Staples.
Phyllis was employed as the secretary through the University of Minnesota Forestry Center in Cloquet until her retirement. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Phyllis enjoyed gardening - growing flowers and vegetables each season. She was an avid reader and liked to go on rides sightseeing. In her younger years she liked to visit their hunting land, camping with friends, and enjoying the outdoors.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; her sister, Angeline Kastanek and niece, Joanne Wappes.
She is survived by her son, Brain Bakka, and her niece, Sheri Dauplaise.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass Thursday, July 30 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the church social hall. To view the guestbook, visit http://www.nelsonfuneralcare.net.
