Obituaries: Janice A. Menze

Janice "Jan" A. Menze, 82, passed away on Aug. 28, 2020 at Inter-Faith Care Center.

Jan was born on January 14, 1938 in Moose Lake to Toge and Helen Anderson.

She attended school in Holyoke, and Klamath Falls, Oregon. Jan retired from the Carlton Nursing Home in 1998.

On Aug. 2, 1958 she married Jerry Menze in San Jose, California. The couple resided in the Twin Cities before moving to Holyoke. Jan was a member of St. Matthews Church in Esko. She recently lived in a senior apartment where she enjoyed nightly card and dice games, bumps, and puzzles with her dear friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Jan is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Menze; her parents, Toge and Helen Anderson; brother, Norman Anderson; stepfather, Edward McDermott; father-in-law, Theodore Menze; mother-in-law, Marie Menze; brothers-in-law, Donald Smith and Jerry Vipond; and sister-in-law, Polly Anderson.

Jan is survived by her children, Jeri (Tim) Radzak, Jay (Wendy) Menze, Jeff (Sally) Menze, Jo (Jerry) Hlava, and Jon (Danielle) Menze; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; sisters, Patricia (Bill) Hinks and Terri (Paul) LaBarre; sisters-in-law, Joan Smith and Linda (Dayle) Veen; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Cloquet Community Hospital, CMH Clinic, and Inter-Faith Care Center for all the wonderful care and kindness they gave Jan over the years.

Due to COVID-19, the family is planning a private graveside service.

The Cremation Society of Minnesota is assisting the family with arrangements.
