A hometown newspaper with a local office, local owners & lots of local news
Fall is coming, and the Cloquet Public Library is excited to return to more normal operations. Now that our construction is complete, we’re able to offer additional services and to return to our regular open hours. Our building is open and we encourage everyone to come and see the changes we’ve made.
Here are some important changes to library operations:
• Our open hours will be Monday-Thursday 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Friday 9:30-5:30, and Saturday 9:30-2. We will remain closed on Sundays.
• Requested items will be available for pickup at the circulation desk instead of in the lobby. If you would prefer to use our curbside pickup option, let us know by calling (218) 879-1531, emailing [email protected], or stopping by the library. You will be notified by automated message when your items are ready for pick up.
• The new teen room will be open with limited hours Monday through Saturday.
Services coming soon:
• More computers
• Conference and meeting room reservations through our online software
Ongoing safety measures:
• Wear a mask inside the library building.
• Observe social distancing.
• Limit your time in the library to 45 minutes.
• We clean library surfaces regularly.
• We quarantine all materials for seven days after they’re returned.
The Friends of the Library will be having three “mini” book sales on Tuesdays this month, starting on Sept. 15. The sales will be in the Friends room from 12:30-2 p.m. To provide a safe book sale, the Friends ask that patrons wear a mask, bring their own bags, observe social distancing, and deposit payment in a drop box. Only a limited number of people will be admitted at a time.
We are also promoting “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten,” a free year-round reading program designed to help caregivers prepare children for school.
