Lorraine Carter, 97, of Cloquet, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, at Sunnyside Health Care. She was born May 19, 1923, to Leonard and Alice (LaBreche) Proulx in Cloquet.
Lorraine was a devout Catholic, a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a member of the church choir.
She worked as the head protein cook for the Cloquet Public Schools for many years.
Lorraine was mom and grandma to her family and many neighborhood kids over the years. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery and cooking for her family and friends.
Lorraine, her mother, and sister Bette, were known as the "Three Musketeers," enjoying camping and golfing over the years.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Douglas Sr .; sons, John and Frank; sister, Bette Schilling; one granddaughter and three great-grand-children. She is survived by her brother, Jim Proulx; sons, Michael (Karen) and Doug Jr. (Pam) Carter; her daughter, Bonnie Carter; daughter-in-law, Terri Carter; 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service: Saturday, Nov. 28 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held in New Calvary Cemetery in Cloquet. Nelson Funeral Care assisted the family with the final arrangements.
