Letter to the editor: Gov is not a god

To Gov. Walz: Your attempts to control the lives of the citizens of Minnesota are deplorable. In an effort to “protect” people from a virus which presents little threat to the majority of the healthy population, you’ve trampled on the rights of the people to pursue life, liberty, and happiness as laid out in the Declaration of Independence and guaranteed by our Constitution. In my opinion, you’ve destroyed the economy in the name of fearmongering and retaliation.

You are not God. You have no right to take away people’s livelihoods and social joys in the name of “protection.” The government has no right to intrude upon the ability of the citizenry to work, to gather, to worship, to celebrate, or to marry, bury, or play, no matter what the reason.

Please come to your senses. Support Minnesotans. Support the healthy development of our children, who are growing up petrified to breathe freely or closely interact with others. Support our economies, and protect our God-given rights as human beings.
