Letter to the editor: School activities win

I would like to take a moment to thank everyone involved in a successful fall season of extracurricular activities at Cloquet High School. Thank you to Dr. Cary, Steve Battaglia, Tim Prosen, other district administrators, and the Cloquet School Board for supporting all our students and extracurricular activities. Thank you to all the workers and officials who helped make events possible. Each of these individuals put their health at risk to make sure students could enjoy these opportunities. Thank you to Matt Carlson, Nicole Sandman, Steve Martin, and other staff who helped with the challenges of a fall season. Thank you to the parents for showing patience this fall. There were many guidelines to follow and changes in schedules that were made. There were restrictions on how many fans could be at events, which made it difficult for everyone to attend. We appreciate your support and understanding during this difficult time. Thank you to all our head and assistant coaches. This season was challenging. Managing all the guidelines required more effort and time on your part. You probably put in more time this season than any other. Your hard work throughout the season was very much appreciated. Your dedication to your sport and working with students cannot be questioned. Thank you to all our athletes. Even though there were no state tournaments, the season was shorter than normal, and there were not nearly as many fans in the crowd, you all worked hard and fully enjoyed the experience.
