Who says we all can't get along?

Dan Britton, a driver for Cloquet distributor Upper Lakes Foods, chats with Matt Baker from competitor US Foods last Thursday in Duluth's Canal Park. Britton said he knew Baker when he first started at Upper Lakes and catching up with him was just natural. He laughed at the notion of competition getting in the way of basic friendliness. "It's no big deal to me," Britton said. "When I worked for Pepsi, I talked to the Coke guys." Food and beverage distributors in the region are busy early this year now that bars and restaurants are up and running after being shuttered at the end of 2020 under Covid-19 pandemic protocols.
