A hometown newspaper with a local office, local owners & lots of local news
The County Seat Theater's production of "Do Not Go Gentle" opens today in-person as well as virtually. Precautions will be required for the 40 people allowed to watch the performances.
The one-act play is described as both a drama and a comedy. Inspired by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas' poem of the same name and written by Suzan Zeder, the play centers around Lillian Boedecker Barron, who is 84 years old, vibrant, funny, wise ... and recently deceased. During her lifetime, Lillian shared a special, long-distance bond with her granddaughter, Kelly, and suffered an estrangement from her son Windsor, a Colonel in the Air Force. After her death, Lillian discovers that she cannot "move on" until the rifts are somehow mended. When the two come to set Lillian's affairs in order, they make "astonishing discoveries" about Lillian and themselves.
