Thanks to the cold snap, the Cloquet School District started winter busing for those students who are not eligible to ride regular buses because they live too close to a school. These routes started this week — both morning and afternoon — and will end at the district’s discretion sometime in the spring. Unlike last year, there is not a separate bus for the winter route. Superintendent Michael Cary said parents must call the Cloquet Transit office to make arrangements for their child to ride the bus, because students will have to be scheduled into current bus routes.
Parents or guardians can call Cloquet Transit at 879-1291 or 879-3607 to set up pickup and dropoff locations and times. These parents or guardians must be listed in the Cloquet schools’ database to set up the request. The routes are separated into K-6 and 7-12 grade levels; please be sure to give your student’s level and student hybrid group (A, B or C) when calling. Parents or guardians must be prepared to provide transportation until they receive confirmation from Cloquet Transit.
