Obituaries: Michael John Hagen

Michael John Hagen, 69, of Roseville, Minnesota, formerly of Cloquet, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Michael was born on Dec. 18, 1951 in Cloquet to Maurice and Virginia Hagen. Michael enjoyed visiting state parks, especially Jay Cooke State Park in Carlton. He loved kayaking at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park north of Two Harbors, Minnesota. His favorite part was kayaking to a spot to enjoy some cheese, crackers and a little wine, and take in the beautiful Minnesota summer day.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Lorrie Hagen, of Cloquet; and brother John Herron of Sydney, Australia. He is survived by brothers Jack (Vicki) and Ernie of Cloquet; nieces, Amy Kolodge (Steve) of Cloquet and Abby Willie (Dan) of Austin, Texas; nephew, Joshua Hagen (Dawn) of Cloquet; and special friend, Phyllis Block of Mellen, Wisconsin.

Due to Covid restrictions, the family will hold a family gathering at a future time.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Jay Cooke State Park or another state park of your choice. Arrangements are by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, serving northern Minnesota.
