Our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Siiri Esther Peterson, age 95, born April 9, 1925, died March 3, 2021. Siiri lived most of her life in Eagle Township, at Eagle Lake, in the home she and her husband, Pete, built. Siiri knew lots of people, as she was a sales clerk at the Cromwell co-op for many years. She and Pete fished and enjoyed the lake, gardened and made “rag rugs,” hosted picnics and danced often. Siiri was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Pete” Leander Peterson; daughter, Barbara Ann (Peterson) Walli; infant grandson Baby Walli; her parents, Mike and Alina Mononen; and sisters and brothers, Aina Larson, infant brother Toivo Mononen, Hilda Mattson, Mae Graff, Sulo Mononen and Anita Conklin. She is survived by her son, Michael Peterson, and his wife, Lynette Tillman; grandsons Michael Tillman, Shawn Tillman, Gene Walli and Mark Walli; and great-grandchildren, Megan Walli, Mike Walli and Shane Tillman. Siiri didn’t want to spread Covid-19 and she tried to self-isolate to control the infection; as such there will be no service. Her son, Michael, thanks everyone for the prayers and thoughts. Arrangements were entrusted to Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet. Condolences can be mailed to the Peterson family at P.O. Box 1, Cromwell MN 55726.

Our sympathy to the family of Marilyn Walters of Cromwell who passed away recently. Her funeral will be held at Bethany this week, no details yet.
