Geraldine “Gerry” A. Nynas, 86 of Cloquet, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Duluth. She was proud to have lived longer than any other immediate family members.
Geraldine was born on April 22, 1934 to Charles and Margaret (Soulier) Ganter, Jr. She was a proud member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Gerry baked marvelous breads and cookies and was the designated bread provider for family gathering. She was a master of knitting and made beautiful sweaters, hats, mittens, socks and leg warmers for family and friends. She gave hundreds of pairs of mittens to the needy via Christmas giving.
Gerry liked to read and collect souvenirs from places she visited. Traveling was one of her great pleasures, having traveled to many states, including Hawaii and Alaska. She traveled internationally to Germany, Russia, Xtapa, Bahamas and had planned to see Ireland.
