Genevieve Lorene Thompson
Entering into Heaven with a marble board, a deck of cards, and dice in her hands, Genevieve Lorene Thompson of Carlton left this earth on March 14 2021 at the young age of 90. Greeting her was her husband, Leroy, along with their son, Steven; her parents, Roverda (Hammitt) and Hubert Grover; granddaughter Michelle Thompson; and several brothers, sisters and other family members and friends.
Surviving Genevieve are five children, Linda Lavoy, Dennis Thompson, Gerald (Mary Kay) Thompson, Bonnie (Steve) Monfeldt, and Brenda Martin. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; brothers Dale (Shirley) Eldon (Karen) and Cliff Grover; sisters Donna Frigon, Margaret Veilleux and Virginia (Bob) Sorenson; brothers-in-law, Art, and Stanley Thompson; and sisters-in-law, Charlene Thompson and Betty Grover.
Genevieve enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing cards, cribbage, and marbles. She made afghans for each child and grandchild, which are treasured by all. Genevieve loved a good card game, especially the games of Golf and Sevens with anyone who would play. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she'll be missed by so many.
Celebration of Life: 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. A private family interment service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Carlton. The service will be on Zoom, ID 873 8200 2240, Passcode: 985221.
