I am still doing some subbing at Floodwood school and I want everyone to know how great the students are there. You can be very proud of your students, educators and the whole staff for doing a great job of educating kids and keeping everyone safe during these difficult times.

Our sympathy to the family of David Alan Tveit, 68, of Floodwood who passed away unexpectedly on March 14 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. In addition to working as a mechanic, David was a lifelong logger.

Our sympathy to the family of Barbara Bernstorf, 80, of Meadowlands who passed away on March 17 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.

Both Barbara and David are my first cousins, once removed, meaning they were my mother Katharine Tveit Dahlman’s first cousins.

At a recent Cromwell-Wright school board reorganization meeting, Tim Homstad was elected chairman, Walter Collman clerk, Brian Granholm treasurer. Other board members are Tom Anderson, Tristan Johnson, and Shayne Korpela. Sue Czarneski has been hired as a sub for Sarah Niemi during her maternity leave and Sara Baars as a paraprofessional for the rest of the school year to replace Hannah Risty who resigned to finish her schooling.

Bill Asp and family made a donation of $500 to the boys basketball team and $500 to the football team.

Best Oil recently bought out the fuel oil portion of Federated Co-ops. Federated is still selling propane.

I got a message that the Wright Senior Club is opening again on Wednesdays, 1-4 p.m., starting April 7. All area folks are welcome to attend. Cribbage opens on Thursdays 6-8 p.m. and you do not need to be a senior to join them.

The Cromwell Area Community Club will be meeting at the Cromwell Pavilion March 30 at 6 p.m. All members are encouraged to meet, along with any other interested parties.

With March being Foodshare Month, fourth-graders at Cromwell-Wright are collecting money for the Tri-Community Food shelf. Checks can be made out to Tri-Community Food Shelf and sent to the Cromwell-Wright School in care of: Fourth Grade, P.O. Box 7, Cromwell, MN 55726.

There is a family in need of disposable diapers. Donations can be left at Bethany in Cromwell or with a member of Bethlehem in Wright. Or just call me at 218-357-2385.

The Bethany and Bethlehem Lutheran churches will be open for worship starting this Palm Sunday, March 28.
