The Farmers Co-op board of directors welcomes Carol Hutar as its newest member. Carol is finishing the term of Birdie Harrington, who recently resigned from the board. The board meetings are at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month in the store’s coffee room.
Starting April 7, the Wright Senior Club is open again 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays. All area people are welcome to attend. Cribbage is 6-8 p.m. Thursdays, and you do not need to be a senior citizen to join in.
Ruby’s Pantry will be handing out food at the Cromwell Park Pavilion 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 8. No boxes or bags needed. Volunteers will fill boxes and bags and bring them to vehicles. Cost is $20 per share.
A special huge thank-you goes out to Cromwell-Wright students and staff and donors for raising more than $1,780 for the Tri-Community Food Shelf in Cromwell. Great job, everyone.
Softball gear is available for purchase through Monday, April 5. Go to the school website for information.
The parents and coaches of elementary basketball give a huge thank-you to Mr. Foster for everything he has done this basketball season. It does not go unnoticed.
How about hosting an exchange student next year? Students are looking for host families for a semester or full year. Students come with their own insurance and spending money, and just need a bed, three meals a day and a loving family to call home. Interested? Contact coordinator Lori Wester at 218-343-8802.
Cromwell Area yoga meets 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Mondays at the Cromwell Pavilion. Wear comfortable clothes, come and leave masked. Masks are not necessary during the session. The Cromwell Forest Hill Cemetery Association Board thanks those who donated to the fund drive. Ther generosity will allow it to maintain fiscal solvency for the near term. “We are working on other options to carry us further into the future, such as estate gifts,” the board announced.
In-person holiday services include Maundy Thursday worship at 7 p.m., April 1 and Good Friday services 7 p.m. Friday, April 2 at Bethany Lutheran Church. Easter worship services will be held at 9 at Bethlehem and 10:30 a.m. at Bethany.
Cromwell-Wright School will be closed for spring break April 5-9.
I’ll leave you with this: As they say in the “Church Basement Ladies” musical, “Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.” Well, here’s the new saying for us senior citizens: “When I find it, I don’t need it. When I need it, I can’t find it.” How true.
