Spring has arrived, and how do I know? Well, I heard the frogs croaking April 6 in our pond in the yard. But I still haven’t seen a robin. I’ll keep watching for them.
Did you know that you can have fresh, warm meals delivered to your home on Tuesdays? Volunteer Services of Carlton County is pleased to provide this service, and all you have to do is call 218-879-9238 by 2 p.m. Thursdays to order (please leave a message because of the great volume of calls). The Streetcar Kitchen in Carlton prepares the meals. You must be age 60 or older to participate. The cost is $8. There is no income limit and no paperwork is needed.

The Lord’s House Church International of McGregor invites everyone to a grocery giveaway 5-5:30 p.m. April 29. The church is located at the intersection of Minnesota highways 210 and 65, next to Subway.
Cromwell Area Community Club’s roadside cleanup is April 24. Volunteers are needed to help clean up the club’s 2-mile Adopt-a-Highway stretch that runs along Minnesota Highway 210 through Cromwell. Gather at the gazebo in the park next to Northview Bank at 9 a.m. to collect a vest and bags and determine which section you will pick up. Wear boots or sturdy shoes and protective gloves. Lunch will be provided at noon.
The club’s new member recruitment mixer will be held starting 6 p.m. May 5 at the Cromwell Park Pavilion. New members are needed to keep our community club thriving in the future. Come and mingle with members to find out more about the club. Look for a flyer in the mail with more details. We will have refreshments and appetizers.
