Cloquet MCCU receives marketing award

The Cloquet branch of Members Cooperative Credit Union (MCCU) was recognized recently with a CUNA Diamond Award for its distinctive lobby design and aesthetics.

Hosted by CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council, the annual Diamond Awards ceremony took place in a series of virtual events recognizing credit unions nationwide for creative excellence and outstanding results in marketing. The event drew 1,278 entries across 35 categories.

MCCU was chosen Best in Category (Color) with an award for Brilliant Use of Art in the Cloquet lobby design. The credit union also received a Diamond award for its neon student debit card collection. MCCU's Cloquet branch features an open, free-flowing lobby designed with a nod to the location's architectural past: the same spot was once occupied by a house built by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

"We're honored to receive national recognition for our Cloquet branch," said Cloquet's Ryanne Battaglia, chief marketing officer at MCCU. "The space reflects our brand and the legacy of the property in a way that really resonates with our members."

Despite the homage to its historic roots, the space is decidedly modern. Its design incorporates a mix of organic shapes and geometric details, accented by energetic swaths of color in MCCU's trademark orange and teal palette - plus a generous helping of high-tech elements such as touch-screen tabletops, interactive self-service kiosks, and a biometric member identification system.
