The Carlton County board of commissioners will hold a public hearing at 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 24 at the Carlton County Transportation Building at 1630 County Road 61 regarding a proposed parking ordinance. The ordinance will regulate parking and parking enforcement for local roadways within Carlton County, and would allow the county to prohibit or limit parking provided regulations are posted or marked beforehand.
The parking ordinance would give the county the right to designate certain roads as no parking or with parking only during certain hours. If the roadway is designated as no parking then there are no exceptions.
“We are trying to eliminate people parking on the roadway and causing traffic hazards and blocking the roadway,” county engineer JinYeene Neumann said.
