Marie Carlson, 82, of Cloquet passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, May 31, 2021. She was born Feb. 2, 1939, in DeWitt, Illinois, the daughter of Carl Dean and Isabelle (Monaghan) Callison.
Marie married Raymond B. Carlson on Dec. 26, 1959, and the couple went on to have five children.
She was a workaholic, working at numerous places and wearing many hats. She could handle most anything that came up. Marie was a great mother and wife, a good listener, caregiver, and the silent commander of her family. She was a very universal person, taking care whether it was cooking a great meal, or bookkeeping for the many businesses she helped run with Ray over the years.
Marie enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music and spending time with her beloved family.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Susan Marklund; brother Carl Dean Callison Jr .; grandson, Jeff Carlson; father in-law, Earl T. Carlson; mother in-law, Annie Carlson; sister-in-law Donna Castner; and brother in-law, Fred Carlson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Raymond B .; her children, David (Coleen), Pam (Steve) Carlson-Jones, Paul (Colleen), Denise (Dan) Follett, and Roschell Landsverk; brothers Ron Castner and Randy (Jesse) Callison; her sister in-law Mar Carlson; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Time of Sharing Monday, June 7 at Nelson Funeral Care. Interment will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery in Cloquet.
