A hometown newspaper with a local office, local owners & lots of local news
Northern Lakes Rescue, the Cloquet Police Department and the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office are partnering to offer free pet microchipping to Carlton County residents on June 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Veterans Park in Cloquet. The walk-up event is free for all Carlton County residents. There is a limit of three pets per household while supplies last, and residents must provide proof of residency.
The idea behind the microchipping event is to help reunite missing pets in the community with their owners as quickly as possible.
Non-county residents can get their pets microchipped for $20. Microchip applications must be completed and all pets must be secured, leashed or kennelled.
Additional low-cost services are available, including nail trims, and distemper and bordetella shots.
A registration form is available at the City of Cloquet website.
