Villains Logan Carlson and Juniper Jablonski tie damsel in distress Ella Anderson to the tracks as town folk cry out for a hero. The County Seat children's theater summer program is highlighting silent movies while still keeping kids as safe as possible. The show "When Silents Was Golden" is a musical tribute to the early years of the 20th century when silent movies mesmerized and enthralled avid theater audiences. Young performers will take to the stage each week at Cloquet's Encore Performing Arts Center as they learn the ins and outs of movie making under the direction of Joel Soukkala and Regina Roemhildt. Videographer Ryan Green shoots all the scenes on Friday and edits the show into a movie featuring old black and white, silent-movie-style musical numbers. The final number is edited so that all 30 students appear as if on stage together. There are no live performances; however, families and patrons may view the performance on demand the week following the camp. The final week of camp is July 12-16. Purchase tickets by visiting the County Seat Theater website at http://www.countyseattheater.com. Cost is $12 for unlimited views for the week.
