Kathie Jo (Danger) Kemi passed away July 7, 2021, at home, with her daughters by her side. She was born in Crookston on Oct. 15, 1951. Kathie graduated from Esko High School in 1969. She married her high school sweetheart, Bruce, in 1970. They built a beautiful home and life together with their two daughters, Kelly and Kym. Kathie worked at the Cloquet Co-op Credit Union for 48 years, where she made many lifelong friendships. She was a hardworking, strong, dedicated and loving woman. Kathie’s biggest joy in life was having grandchildren. She cherished every single moment with them. We will all miss her classy holiday decorating, desire to keep everything tidy and welcoming, and her delight in trying anything “new.” We will especially miss her unconditional love for each and every one of us.
Kathie is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; her parents, Lloyd and LeNore Danger; and her sister, Sue Grossman. Kathie is survived by her daughters, Kelly Jo (Von) Thill and Kimberly Jo (Scott) Jolstad; grandchildren, Manny and Leo Thill and August Jolstad; brothers the Rev. Terry (Jana), Robert (Belinda) and Thomas; sisters-in-law, Leola Rodd and Sherry (David) Erickson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly. Peace is found in the loving reunion of our mom and dad. Together forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 17 at her home at 207 Prevost Road in Cloquet. The family asks that you stop in to share a memory and enjoy some of Kathie’s Coffee and desserts. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet.
