The Carlton County Fair is fast approaching and I am looking for volunteers to work at the Little Red School Aug. 19-22 Please call me at 808-366-6582 or 218-357-2385 if you can spare a couple of hours volunteering.

The Extreme Team will be holding a car wash at the fire department in Cromwell 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7. Freewill donation.

Word has it that Hey Day in Tamarack is Aug. 7. Activities include the marathon at 10 a.m., parade at 11 a.m., kids’ carnival games 12-2 p.m., three-wheeler races at 11:30, softball tourney starting at 12 p.m., pollinator exhibit 12-3 p.m., medallion hunt starting 1 p.m., and footraces, relays and games for all ages 1-3 p.m. Button drawings for big prizes are 1-4 p.m., and there will be concessions, historical displays and vendors and crafters all day.

There will be no yoga next Monday, but Ann plans to be back for Aug. 16 yoga and beyond. Meanwhile, do a bit of stretching every day at home or wherever you are.

The family of Mary Purcell is holding an informal celebration of life gathering for her at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright.

Our sympathy to Ann Heikkila and family on the recent death of their long-time pet dog, Keegan. Keegan has been in the family for over 12 years and it isn’t easy adjusting to his passing.

There are now 40 members of the Cromwell Area YOT. The next meeting is set for noon Tuesday, Aug. 10 at noon at the Cromwell Park Pavilion. New members are always welcome to attend and lunch is provided.

The 102nd yearly meeting of the Farmers Co-op in Wright is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11 at the Wright Senior Center. There will be an election of two directors, and any other business will be considered, including the future disposition of the store. Lunch and door prizes will follow the meeting. All shareholders and those considering becoming shareholders are welcome to attend. Shares can be purchased for $10 each at any time.
