A hometown newspaper with a local office, local owners & lots of local news
We recieved responses to our inquiry last week about the photo found here of a group of people, young and old, believed to have been taken likely 50 years ago. If you have any items for History Mysteries, or info on current cases, email [email protected]. Here are some of those responses:
Jennifer Jaakola
I showed this picture to my parents and they recognized a bunch of people. They both grew up on Big Lake Road, which is where the people they recognized also lived. They believe this photo was taken for the Farmers Union they all belonged to back in the day. The faces they recognized are Leonard Lund, Elsie Lund, Anne Carlson, Eino Kantonen, Andrew Lund, Rick Kantonen, Earl Carlson, Marion Landstrom, Mary Ketola, Charlene Carlson, Dwayne Carlson, and Myrtle Carlson. We're not 100 percent on all the names but are very certain on some. Hope this helps. It was fun watching my parents picking out the people they recognized.
Debbie (Ketola) Erickson
My mother, Margie Ketola, sent this to me. I believe it is a picture of all of us who went on the Farmer's Union bus trip to the Minnesota State Fair. I recognize so many of these people.
Jim Boyd
The only person I recognize is June Brower. She is in the second row from the bottom of the photo, wearing a sleeveless blouse with a floral pattern. She was active in the DFL Party, but I do not know if this was a DFL event. June lived on Brower Drive on the east side of Big Lake.
