National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, Oct. 23. The event runs locally 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cromwell Fire Hall. Participants may dispose of prescription drugs with or without the original packaging. Many thanks to the City of Cromwell for bringing this service to our area.

There is no school Oct. 21-25.

The Community Area Community Club is holding an Adopt A Highway cleanup 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, with a hot dog and chip lunch to follow at the Pavilion.

The Tamarack Presbyterian Church is holding a spaghetti supper 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.

This year’s Chilloween is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 at the Cromwell Park Pavilion. Volunteers are needed to help with this event that provides fun for our kids in a safe environment; please contact Brenda Nyberg at 218-390-4570 or email her at [email protected].

The Extreme Teens Youth Group’s spooky painting party will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 at the Sno-Gophers club in Cromwell. For ages 13 and older.

The CACC hunters’ supper is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 5. More helpers are needed for preparing food, cooking, bussing tables, putting up posters, or whatever you can do. If you can help, please contact Deb Switzer, 218-340-1968 or [email protected].

The Red Bird Bazaar will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 at Cromwell-Wright School. Registration forms were emailed Sept. 20 and need to be returned with payment by Friday, Oct. 29. Spaces are first come, first served with your paid registration.

The school nurse’s office is in need of size 10/12 and 14/16 boys’ and girls’ pants. Please drop off donations at our school district office.

The Area Clothing Depot will hold a free coat and sweater giveaway Oct. 26, 28 and 30.

The last YOT dance for the year will be held 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28 at the Cromwell Pavilion, with music by Jerry’s One Man Band.

Ray and Alice Gurske will be celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright. Please pass the word.

Gerald Allen Heikkila, 87, of Cromwell passed away Oct. 8, 2021. Jerry was born and raised in Cromwell. Our sympathy to his wife of 64 years, Wilma, and family. A memorial service was held Oct. 17.
