Marsha Peterson will retire Saturday, Oct. 30, after more than 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Please decorate your mailbox or leave a note in appreciation of her dedication to delivering the mail on the rural routes of Tamarack and Wright areas as well as always being available to help in any way she can. There will be treats at the post office Saturday during window hours, so stop in to wish her well.
Chilloween is Friday, Oct. 29 at the Cromwell Park Pavilion, 6-8 p.m. for those in sixth grade and younger (must be accompanied by an adult) and 8-10 p.m. for older kids. There will be snacks, music, dancing, games, costume contests and face painting. Bring your own already-carved jack-o-lantern for a contest. This is an indoor-only event.
The CACC hunters’ supper, turkey and all the trimmings, complete with pumpkin pie, will be served 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. The school nurse’s office is in need of size 10/12 and 14/16 boys’ and girls’ pants. Please drop off donations at our school district office.

The Cromwell-Wright School will be honoring all area veterans on Veterans Day at the school. Coffee and treats will be served 1-1:30 p.m., followed by a program 1:30-2:30 p.m. All area veterans and community members are welcome to attend.
The Area Clothing Depot’s coat and sweater giveaway continues Oct. 28 and 30.
Our sympathy to the family of Faye Joann Korpela Hurst, 69, who died peacefully Oct. 19. Faye was born in Moose Lake and grew up in Cromwell, and she and her husband, Dennis, raised their family in Barnum.
