The Women of Bethlehem will be hosting the annual Christmas bazaar, brunch and bake sale 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 11. Gently used or new Christmas items can be brought in at any time. They will also have a raffle for gift cards and a turkey.

There will not be a Christmas family night this year at the Villa Vista/Cardinal Court due to Covid-19 concerns. The facility will have special music several times in December and people can still visit family or friends if fully vaccinated.

Gift donations are requested for the residents of the Villa Vista/Cardinal Court this year. Unwrapped gifts need to be dropped off by Dec. 19 so they can be wrapped in time. Gift wrap is also needed.

The Cromwell Wright School will have its Christmas programs on Dec. 20 for the high school groups and Dec. 21 for the elementary. Both programs are at 6 p.m.

The YOT Christmas dinner and gathering will be on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at noon at the Cromwell Pavilion.

I hope you have noticed the improvements to the Wright post office: new siding, roofing, and facia. Next is a new sign.

Cromwell mayor Sharon Zelazny presented information on the Clean Water Grant of $110,000 and the Outdoor Park Grant of $355,000. Jen Anderson also presented information on shade shelters, future plans for basketball court, and a future outdoor pavilion. Work will begin as early as possible next spring. The project will be coordinated so as many events as possible can still be held at the pavilion. Mayor Zelazny said she will be starting the process of planning for additional grants to update the pavilion building itself and will be forming a committee for this purpose.

The Cromwell city council appointed Alex French to fill the council vacancy.
