Arthur D. Line, 90, of Cloquet passed away Dec. 21, 2021 at Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton, after a courageous battle with cancer of the tongue. He was born March 15, 1931 in Cromwell to James and Dorcas (Gravelle) Line. Art was the oldest of eight children. He worked at Conwed for 32 years. Art was always quick to help a neighbor, friend, or his family. He loved to snowmobile, fish, ride his four-wheeler, cut grass and enjoy a beer or brandy. Art always had a beautiful garden and always shared the bounty.
Art was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Line; and sisters Joyce Line, Vivian Johnson and Virginia Line. He is survived by his children, David (Punky) Line, Sue (RD) Nelson and Diane (James) Johnson; grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Preston, Brandi (Josh) Clabough, Brianna Ostby and Kelsey Line; nine great-grandchildren; brothers Jim and Dale Line; sister Lorraine Line; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family thanks Dr. Andrew Davis of St. Luke's ENT and his staff, who always treated Art with respect and kindness; the staff at Inter-Faith, who took excellent care of Art and made him feel at home; and all the special people from St. Croix Hospice, who also treated Art with dignity and kindness.
Visitation: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m.
memorial service Monday, Dec. 27 at Nelson Funeral Care, Cloquet.
