I was encouraged to see so many folks attending Christmas Eve services in our area churches. It seems that we sometimes forget the reason for the season, but when folks come together to worship together it renews our faith in humankind. Now we can look forward to the new year and hopefully better times. So, have a merry and blessed 2022.
It seems that we are getting more and more scam calls now. Lately, scammers pretending to be pastors are sending emails and texts, saying they need a favor from you in the form of gift cards. Please don’t fall for this. It’s sad that we have to be so wary of so many things these days but be assured if it seems weird, it probably is. You can add your phone number to the Federal Trade Commission’s National Do Not Call Registry by calling 1-888-382-1222 from the phone you want to register, or register at DoNotCall.gov. Report fraud at reportfraud.ftc.gov.

Plan on joining the Cromwell Area Community Club’s New Year’s Eve celebration starting at 8:30 p.m. at the Cromwell Park pavilion. There will be music by The River Hill Rangers, hors d’oeuvres at 11 p.m., a champagne toast and dancing. Dress: semiformal. $10 per person, 21 or older.
