I forgot to mention that this year’s homecoming queen was the 75th in school history and the king was the 65th. Homecoming began in 1948 with the crowning of Jean Heikkila. The first king was Dennis Korpela in 1958. Congrats to Zevvus Smith and Natalee Hakamaki for keeping this fine tradition going. There is a complete list of all the homecoming royalty on the trophy case by the school office.

The school reports that there is an increasing amount of reported and confirmed Covid, influenza, and other cold illnesses in the school. Monitor children closely for symptoms and seek testing and medical care when they arise. Keeping your child home when they are not feeling well is important for us to limit the spread.

There is going to be a special Valentine’s Day dinner at 6 p.m. Feb. 12 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. Tickets are $15 in advance. Contact any Extreme Team youth, Liz Kabus (218-428-6733) or Sarah Levinski (651-246-9003) for more info.

The Cromwell Area Community Club is sponsoring an afternoon of skiing and snowshoeing on Sunday, Feb. 20 at 885 State Forest Road in Cromwell. Bring your own skis or snowshoes and a chair for the bonfire. Coffee, hot chocolate and cookies will be provided. Everyone who skis or snowshoes will be required to sign a liability waiver.
