Pandemic grants going to events

Carlton County has announced that $10,000 of the remaining pandemic relief funding will be disbursed as grants aimed at bringing county communities back together.

Groups that plan to host free community events in Carlton County in 2022 should consider applying for grants of up to $1,000, based on event details, geographic disbursement, impact, and countywide demand for funding.

Applications are available beginning Monday, March 14 and are due by 4 p.m. April 15.

Over the past two years, many fun, community-building, educational and cultural events have been canceled due to the Covid-19 risks associated with close-contact community gatherings. Hopeful that infection numbers continue to decline, many communities look to regenerate opportunities to get residents, families, and visitors back out and about.

Grant applications with program guidelines can be picked up at the Carlton County Government Services Building, 1307 Cloquet Ave. in Cloquet or can be printed off of the county website, http://www.co.carlton.mn.us under the “News Flash” section.
