The next time you get your hands on some spare change, take a closer look. You might be holding a special new quarter from the U.S. Mint. Five new quarters issued over the next four years will feature trailblazing women: Maya Angelou, Sally Ride, Anna May Wong, Wilma Mankiller and Adelina Otero-Warren. They were chosen by Janet Yellen, the first woman to serve as Secretary of the Treasury, after more than 11,000 names were submitted.
March is Minnesota FoodShare Month. The fourth-grade class will be collecting money again this year for the Tri-Community Food Shelf. Donations can be brought to any elementary classroom or left in the office. All donations help our local community and will be delivered to the food shelf on Friday, March 25. Thank you for your generosity.
