Our sincere sympathies to the family of Mary Suhonen Erickson, 72, who passed away March 12. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Free Church in Wright.

The next time you get your hands on some spare change, take a closer look. You might be holding a special new quarter from the U.S. Mint. Five new quarters issued over the next four years will feature trailblazing women: Maya Angelou, Sally Ride, Anna May Wong, Wilma Mankiller and Adelina Otero-Warren. They were chosen by Janet Yellen, the first woman to serve as Secretary of the Treasury, after more than 11,000 names were submitted.

March is Minnesota FoodShare Month. The fourth-grade class will be collecting money again this year for the Tri-Community Food Shelf. Donations can be brought to any elementary classroom or left in the office. All donations help our local community and will be delivered to the food shelf on Friday, March 25. Thank you for your generosity.

Lenten services have begun at the area churches. Please check with your church for times and dates. Soup supper is served at 6 p.m. Wednesdays, March 16 and 30 at Bethany, and March 23 and April 6 at Bethlehem.

Ladies’ Springtime Soul Rejuvenation is Saturday, April 2, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. Registration: 10 a.m., with music by Cromwell-Wright exchange student Augustus Poskus on guitar and piano; speaker DeeDee Haines presents “Ladies Laugh & Cry” at 10:30; music at 11 by Katie Switzer, American Idol contestant and 2022 North of Nashville competition winner; and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. RSVP by signing up at Bethany Lutheran Church or by calling Cherie Nyberg, 218-644-3731. Bethany Lutheran Church is seeking five to six youth in grades 7-12 who would be interested in volunteering 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for the Ladies’ spring luncheon Saturday, April 2. Please contact Wanda Karppinen, 218-644-3542 or [email protected].

The next YOT Senior dance is 1-4 p.m. Friday, March 24 at the Cromwell Pavilion, with music by Florian Chmielewski.

Bill and Judy Haapoja will be at Villa 6 p.m. on March 28.

ATV training classes will be held April 30 in Moose Lake, May 7 in Lawler, and May 21 in Tamarack. From the Cromwell-Wright student council: Thank you to all students, staff, and our community for helping us raise $854.04 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s campaign. We appreciate you and feel very fortunate to be able to help these courageous kids fighting childhood cancer.
