Wound clinic receives national awards

For the fourth year in a row, the Advanced Wound Clinic at Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet has been awarded the Center of Distinction award by Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. The Advanced Wound Clinic achieved this award for outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months. Those outcomes include having a patient satisfaction rate higher than 92 percent and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 92 percent. There were 555 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award and 278 achieved the honor.

“Not only has the Advanced Wound Clinic been awarded the Center of Distinction award for the fourth year in a row, but we were also awarded the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D. Clinical Excellence award, which means we are performing in the top 10 percent of clinics in the entire country for healing rates,” said Betsy Johnson, RN and clinical program director at the Advanced Wound Clinic. “I could not be prouder of the team here at the Advanced Wound Clinic. They continually rise above every challenge placed in front of them and provide the best care possible to every patient who comes through our door. The Advanced Wound Clinic is a great clinic and I look forward to our future where we continue to provide excellent care to Cloquet and the surrounding communities.”

The Advanced Wound Clinic at CMH opened in September of 2017 and is a member of the Healogics network of more than 600 Wound Care Centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
