Carlton County master gardeners are hosting two family garden-party-style classes in the next month. They are free and open to everyone, but space is limited, so registration is required.
The first session is 10-11:30 a.m. April 28. The second is at the same time on May 12. Both will take place at the Carlton County Government Services Building at 1307 Cloquet Ave. in Cloquet at the outside green space area. Activities will move inside in case of bad weather.
The first party on April 28 will feature planting seeds in a greenhouse kit that is provided and a master gardener reading the book, “Eat Your Colors.” The second party on May 12 will involve creating stepping stones and the book, “Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt.” Story strolls will also be a feature at each event, as well as snacks.
Students will receive a copy of the book read and a garden scavenger hunt activity sheet. Adults are expected to attend with children and will receive information on child development and learning in the garden.
