Renee Genevieve Kinnunen, 83, of Cloquet passed away on April 1, 2022, peacefully at Sunnyside Health Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Renee was born on Dec. 27, 1938 in Cloquet, the daughter of Keith and Evelyn Hunter. She graduated from Cloquet High School in 1956, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred Kinnunen, brother Keith Hunter, son Kevin Rodd, and daughter Julie Rodd. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who loved her. She is survived by her son Tracy (Kristine Fisher) Rodd of Lake Elmo, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; sister Marilyn (Stan) Standridge of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers Larry (Neva) Hunter of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mickey (Samita) Hunter of Cloquet, and Kurt (Maria) Hunter of Flörsheim am Main, Germany; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thank-you to all the staff at Sunnyside and St. Croix Hospice for their kind support and love, as well as Eunice Luedtke for her comfort and care for Renee over the past few years.
Please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in Renee’s name. At her request, a private burial will take place this spring.
