Lorraine A. Laine, 84, of Saginaw passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Diamond Willow in Cloquet. She was born Feb. 15, 1938, in Cloquet, the daughter of Maurice and Hilda (Bjork) Tromblay.
Lorraine graduated from Brookston High School as valedictorian.
She was married to Arnold Laine on June 2, 1956. Lorraine loved cooking and cooked at AlBrook High School for many years, for Meals on Wheels, and at the Finlandia Club. She also worked as a home care aide for Senior Friend.
Lorraine was very involved with the VFW Auxiliary and served as president of the Cooties. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Munger and the Ladies Aid.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold; one son, Mark Laine; grandchildren, Eric and Connor; siblings Richard Tromblay, Shirley Elfving, Marion Johnson and Margaret Tromblay.
She is survived by her children John (Jackie) Laine, Brett Laine, and Jill (Rick) Brown; grandchildren Courtney, Brittani, Meghan, Colton, Collin and Calum; great-grandchildren, Mason, Parker, Maddox, Hudson and Ben; one sister, Helen Bong; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, April 16 at Hope Lutheran Church in Munger, followed by a luncheon in the social hall. Inurnment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Saginaw. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.
