She then worked in administrative roles for the Duluth News Tribune, Consolidated Abstract, and Cargill. In 1950, she married James M. Wolner of Cloquet. She resided there for more than 60 years as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
Dee was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Cloquet, St. Andrew's Service Guild, and volunteered at the Cloquet Public Library.
Dee was unique in her love, humility, kindness, faith, wit and humor, consistently putting the needs of others ahead of her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim; brother James W. Selen; infant son David; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew and in-laws. Delores is survived by sons John, Mark and Paul (Joann) Wolner; granddaughters Katherine (Matthew) Sauer and Amy (Joshua) Sleper; great-grandchildren Abigail Delores Sleper and Linus Peter Sleper; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and close family friend Greg (Lynn Milberger) Hallback.
The family thanks the exceptional staff at Inter-faith Care Center for excellent, loving care, as well as the outstanding care of the physicians and staff at Raiter Clinic and Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet and St. Mary's Essentia Health in Duluth. The family also greatly appreciates the devoted ministry of the Rev. Joe Piette of Trinity Episcopal Church and Deacon Jon Skansgaard.
