Former Lumberjack, Bulldog and current member of the National Hockey League’s Seattle Kraken Karson Kuhlman has been named to the 2022 U.S. Men’s World Championship roster, the University of Minnesota Duluth reported.
The Esko native competed for the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs 2014-2018, while serving as team captain during his senior season 2017-18, according to a UMD news release. Additionally, Kuhlman served as an assistant captain during both his sophomore and junior seasons. In 166 games with the Bulldogs, Kuhlman tallied 39 goals and 41 assists for 80 career points. As a senior in 2018, Kuhlman captained the Bulldogs to an NCAA National Championship.
Following his career in Duluth, Kuhlman has suited up in 100 National Hockey League games between the Boston Bruins and Seattle Kraken. Kuhlman has notched nine goals and 14 assists for 23 career points. Kuhlman signed with the Boston Bruins in 2018.
Kuhlman suited up for Team USA and won gold at the 2013-14 World Junior A Challenge. Additionally, Kuhlman competed with Team USA at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
