Judith Lynn Sortedahl Anderson, 67, of Bynum, Montana, passed away peacefully from pancreatic cancer May 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Harlan Sortedahl, and her younger brother Brian Sortedahl.
Judy is survived by her mother, Geraldine Sortedahl; her forever guy, Zales Davidson; her siblings Barb (Allan) Soukkala, Nancy (Jerry) Zielinski and Kraig (Alison) Sortedahl; as well as her three children, Janel (Mark) Lamb, Nathaniel (Sang Mi) DeRusha and Nickolas (Hannah) DeRusha. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Judy was born in Duluth, Minnesota on March 2, 1955. She graduated from Carlton High School in 1973, got her nursing degree, and began a long and successful career as a nurse. She worked as a registered nurse in the emergency room of Mesa Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Arizona for many years. She moved to Great Falls, Montana in 1993, where she lived a full life of trail riding, gardening, quilting and being outdoors as much as possible.
Judy was beloved by everyone who had the privilege of meeting and knowing her. She was kind, hardworking, and tough. She will be missed dearly, and is in our hearts, forever.
A Celebration of Judith’s life will be held at 3 p.m. July 31 at the Barb and Al Soukkola residence in Cloquet. Cards can be sent to PO Box 704, Bynum MT 59419.
