The Ma & Pa Kettle Days committee met Wednesday, June 21 to plan for this year’s Ma & Pa Kettle Days, which will be held Aug. 13. Some activities include a pie social at the senior center 12-2 p.m. and bingo at the Veterans Building 1-4 p.m. Look for Tony Tracy and friends to perform at the Tower Tap 7 p.m. to midnight.
We are still trying to confirm other events and will need volunteers to help. If you are willing to lend a hand this year, contact Dan Reed at 218-273-6103 or Marcia Sarvela at 218-273-4045, or send a note to Ma & Pa Kettle Days at P.O. Box 173, Kettle River MN 55757.
The Ma & Pa Kettle mini golf is now open at 3969 Main St. For every paid admission, $1 will go to the Ma & Pa Kettle fund. For information, call Todd at 218-273-0061.
The next Kettle River city council meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 in the council room. Plan to attend the meeting so you know what is happening. Things are still very upsetting with what is happening
to our city because of one person. This is costing the city many dollars in legal fees.
I hope everyone will be able to attend the Finnish luncheon at noon Tuesday, July 19 at the Kettle River senior center. With road construction on Hwy 73 those from Cromwell will have to find a different route to get to the lunch. We had a nice crowd June 21, and many stayed to visit for a while after the meal. It was a beautiful day to come out.
There will be a citywide garage sale in Kettle River 8 a.m.-4 p.m. July 2 and 3. There are about 10 homes now ready for this sale. Everyone is encouraged to have their own garage sale at this time also. That way, people can take advantage of many sales on the same day.
National Night Out in Kettle River is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 at the senior center. Come out and enjoy the opportunity to meet neighbors, and enjoy hamburgers and hot dogs.
