Brian Stewart McLain, born Aug. 18, 1959, in Cloquet, the son of John and Theresa (Loumala) McLain, passed away of a massive heart attack July 18, 2022, at Community Memorial Hospital. He was a 1977 graduate of Cloquet High School. Brian married Angie Carlson on Sept. 22, 2001; they would have been married 21 years this September. He loved hunting, fishing, and was a diehard dirt track race fan and loved classic cars. Brian loved socializing with family and friends. He was employed at Chemstar for 24 years. Brian was an all-round good guy and would do anything for you if he could.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Preston, niece Jasmine; and father-in-law Warren Carlson. He will be greatly missed by his wife Angie; he was the proud father of his five children, Isaac (Hannah) McLain of New Auburn, Wisconsin, Ben (Danielle Haluptzok) McLain of Cloquet, Amanda McLain of Superior, Wisconsin, Lyndsey (Chase) Raudebaugh of Superior, and Nickolas McLain of Cloquet; the proud grandfather of Justin, Skyler, Libby, Lilly, Reed, Ryder, Hunter, and Leland; his siblings Connie (Dave) Luomanen of Duluth, Bruce (Gina) McLain of California, Jean Laurin of Duluth, Cheryl (Robin) Clark of Cloquet, Brooke (Sue Langley) of Cloquet, Tracy (Bob) Fergeson of Cloquet, and all their families; his mother-in-law Jackie Carlson; brothers-in-law Bob (Jessica), Gus (Becky), and Dan (Gloria) Carlson; sister-in-law Erin Carlson of Hermantown; and uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended families. Brian will always be remembered and will be forever loved by his family and friends.
