Pine Technical & Community College is offering a free Certified Nursing Assistant course in Moose Lake as part of Gov. Tim Walz’s initiative to recruit certified nursing assistants for Minnesota long-term care facilities. Working as a CNA is an excellent stand-alone career or a good way to launch a nursing career. The program provides the information and skills needed to become a nursing assistant on the Minnesota registry and work in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, adult day care centers, personal residences and assisted living facilities. Credit is earned toward PTCC’s nursing and healthcare programs. A transportation stipend may be available for eligible students. Classes are 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays Sept. 10-Oct. 16 at Essentia Health-Moose Lake, 4572 County Road 61 in Moose Lake. To register, contact Di Abrahamsen at 320-629-5176 or [email protected]. This is a credit course, and you must apply to the college. You will receive instructions on how to fill out the application online.
