Corrections

• The spelling of Cheryl Ankrum’s name was incorrect in the Aug. 26 story, “Wrenshall disciplines someone, but who?” on Page 7.

• The caption for the Anderson family was out of order in last week’s century farm story on Page 21, “Cromwell farm earns prestigious century label.” Family members as pictured, from left, were Joan, Guy and LeeAnn Anderson.

• The Aug. 26 Cloquet Educational Foundation golf tournament brief on Page 16 listed last year’s winner by mistake. In reality, Team “Uptown Funk” took home the 2022 tournament trophy. Captained by Dustin Nelson, the team sailed through to the championship with an impressive score of 55, according to the foundation’s executive director Jody Acers. Team members included Nelson, Keegan Poppenberg, Dan Baier, Mark Heehn and Steve Fiske.

• A passage in the page 1, Aug. 26 story, “For first time in ages, contested race for sheriff,” was not as clear as it needed to be. The Minnesota Department of Corrections’ sunset authorization letter in 2020 said there was no possibility for the current Carlton County jail to be retrofitted without being torn down and rebuilt. “There does not appear to be any further options to extend the life expectancy, or operational efficiencies of the existing facility,” the Department of Corrections wrote in its Jan. 2020 letter to Sheriff Kelly Lake and the county.
