Forestry Center open house

“Expert” Riley Olesiak explains a Cloquet Forestry Center event punch card to Luke O’Neill. The cards were utilized to teach visitors some of the educational tools at the research and demonstration forest during an open house Aug. 24. Riley is accompanied by University of Minnesota Forestry employees, his mother Rachael (left) and Denise Volk. Many Cloquet and surrounding area visitors attended the center’s open house, which also included wagon tours of some of the forestry center trails. A self-guided walking tour is open through Sept. 30, although the trails there are almost always open to visitors. The center is located at 175 University Road, Cloquet.
