Susan K. Modec, 80, of Cloquet passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at New Perspective Senior Living. She was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Eveleth, the daughter of Joseph and Jessie (Plattner) Peritz. Sue graduated from Eveleth High School and graduated from St. Scholastica with a teaching degree. She was united in marriage to Dennis Modec on Aug. 8, 1964, in Eveleth. Sue was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Journey Church bible study, and the Red Hats. She enjoyed writing cards to family and friends, puzzles, playing cards, donating books, random acts of kindness, and pets. Most especially, Sue loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Katie Hall; and her in-laws, Frank and Mary Modec. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter Christine (Michael) Bondi; sister, Jan Miletich; five grandchildren, Lauren Bondi, Abigail Bondi, Sydney Bondi, Alex Hall and Maggie Hall; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was scheduled for 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, and continuing at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Sept. 23, all at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Interment service will be at New Calvary Cemetery, followed by a luncheon in the church social hall. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.
