With deep sadness, William “Bill” Francis Schroeder, 81 of Scanlon, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022. He was born April 27, 1941, in Cloquet the son of Francis and Grace (Bashterash) Schroeder. Bill was a 1959 graduate of Cloquet High School and served in the Marine Corps from 1960-1964. He was employed with Northwest Paper/Potlatch Corporation for 42 years, retiring in 2001 as foreman superintendent. Bill was a 20-year volunteer for the Scanlon Fire Department and he enjoyed watching his grandkids in sports, reading, and spending time with his family.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Karen Schroeder; sister, Elizabeth (Schroeder) Richardson; brother, Michael Schroeder; father-in-law, Dick Salo, and sister-in-law, Susan Salo. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him, especially his wife of 33 years, Sandra (Tina) Schroeder; his children, Kevin (Mary) Schroeder, Kelly (Mike Lonetto) Langenbrunner, Kimberly Munoz, and Holly Vermeersch; grandchildren, Makayla (Zak Jasken) Langenbrunner, Alex and Nicholas Munoz, Madi and Emily Vermeersch; his siblings, Catherine, Tim, Ted (Judy), Jean (Belinda Moers), and Dor (Denise Brinson) Schroeder; mother-in-law, Virginia Salo; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Salo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
